What can I do if a SmartGraphs or Graph Literacy app crashes or freezes?

Every once in a while apps crash, freeze up or act in unexpected ways for no apparent reason. When this happens, the first thing to try is closing and restarting the app. If that does not help, try rebooting your device. If that doesn't solve the problem, try re-installing the app.

Restarting the App

iOS

  1. Double click the Home button to show running apps. The icon for each running app will have a preview page above it.
  2. Find the icon and preview page of the app you want to close, then flick up on the page and the page will disappear.
  3. Once the page has disappeared, the app has been closed. Tap on the app's icon to open it again.

Rebooting Your Device

iOS Devices

  1. Hold down the Sleep/Wake button on the top of your device until you see "slide to power off" appear.
  2. Use your finger to swipe the circular power icon to the right.
  3. Allow the device to fully power down. You will see a circular animation in the center of the screen until the device is completely off. Once it is, the screen will be completely blank.
  4. Next, hold down the Sleep/Wake button again until you see the Apple logo appear.
  5. After a few seconds, your device will be ready to use again. Try using the app again to see if that solved the problem.

Re-installing Apps

To re-install an app, you will first have to uninstall the app.

  5. Now, open the App Store on your device.
  6. Tap "Purchased" at the bottom of the screen, then locate the app you just deleted
  7. Tap the cloud/download icon. If prompted, enter your iTunes Store account information.
  8. Once the download is complete, try using the app again to see if that solved the problem.
